In 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The preview reveals Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a latest plaything, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
One thing the teaser avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in the familiar setting without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And where is Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?

Hopefully she is still the key figure among the group.
